Happy Easter! There are plenty of cheap events in London over the four-day weekend.

The Lock Tavern Festival (29th March-1st April) – Free

Back for another year, the free festival of live music, DJ sets, and street food runs for four days at the legendary Camden drinking den. A secret headliner is to be announced but there are confirmed sets from Wesley Gonzalez, Drahla, TVAM, Black Midi, Mush, Benin City, Bee Bee Sea, CC Honeymoon, Thyla, Swimming Girls, Curfew, Two Tribes, Jerskin Fendrix, Adults and Los Bitchos.

Horniman Easter Fair (31st March-April 1st) – Free

The free-entry event runs on Easter Saturday and Sunday. There are Easter trails, craft workshops, and face painting. You can also learn to Lindy Hop for free.

Some of the activities charge a small fee—it will cost £3.00 to meet Zebedee the 7ft boa constrictor and the bearded water dragons in Animal Corner and performances of The Ugly Duckling costs £5.00.

Easter Egg Hunt – Sutton House (30th March – 2nd April) – From £6

Combine a trip to a National Trust house without leaving the city and Easter activities for kids. With Easter egg hunts from Friday 30th to Monday 2nd, between 12 pm and 4 pm, kids can run free and wild for hours, hunting for the lost Easter chicks.

When they are finished, they can swap them for a chocolaty treat and take part in some of the holiday activities like seed-planting and a special trail inside Sutton House.

Insight Astronomy Photographer of the Year Exhibition (March 30th-April 2nd and ongoing) – Free

Look to stars, planets, nebulae and more at The Royal Observatory in Greenwich. This free exhibition celebrates the best astrophotography taken by photographers all over planet Earth.

Shoreditch Dog House (30th) – From £8.00

Last chance for London dog lovers to pet a pooch, or leave their dog to be doted on for less-than-exorbitant doggy daycare prices at this pop-up at Canvas in Shoreditch.

It’s good for humans too. Every hour your dog spends at Shoreditch Dog House will pay for a hot drink or a meal for someone in need from the Tower Hamlets area.

Listen: 140 Years of Recorded Sound (30th March- 1st April and until 13th May) – Free

As the name suggests, this exhibition is an auditory rather than visual experience. Celebrating the origin of recorded sound, it follows a timeline from 1877 featuring key events in sound recording history, with rare and unpublished recordings as well as a specially commissioned audio installation by composer Aleks Kolkowski. he exhibition is part of the Season of Sound, celebrating the Library’s sound archives. The exhibition can be found in the entrance hall of the British Library.
