London Naked Bike Ride
London Naked Bike Ride is an annual nude cycling event in protest against car culture and oil dependency. London protesters will ride naked through the city streets with slogans painted on their backs including ‘Burn Fat Not Oil’, ‘Less Gas More Ass’ or (in our opinion) the best ‘Energy Is Renude’. There will be six starting points: Tower Hill, Regents Park, West Norwood, Hyde Park, Clapham Junction, and Kew Bridge. Full nudity is optional; some people cycle in their underwear for personal modesty/chafing reasons. But if you’re brave enough to bare all, remember it’s considered bad form to disrobe before the start of the ride.
Open Garden Square Weekend
Enter a world of secret gardens, as normally restricted and private spaces are open to the public for two days. There are over 200 participating gardens across 27 boroughs in association with The National Trust. Open spaces include conventional hospital gardens, barges, museums, schools, churchyards and even skips!

The Big London Flea
Forget the sales—head to this vintage lover’s dream in Hackney for all the best finds in fashion, antique furniture and more! Hosts of the regular Hackney Flea Market often have alternative events, including DIY art markets and record fairs, but this one is a whole lot bigger! With over 50 handpicked stalls selling a huge variety of items, you can browse stalls run by market traders or locals having a clear-out of much-loved items, depending on what catches your eye.

Zip Now
High flyers who enjoyed Zip World London, can get their skyward kicks again. Back with a new name, at Archbishop’s Park in Lambeth. This year there will be three 225 meter-long zip wires, starting 35ft (the height of nine double-decker buses!) so you can hurtle through the air at 50mph next to your friends and loved ones. As well as speeding through the air, you’ll get dizzying views of sites including Battersea and Westminister. It’s suitable for kids over the age of 8 when accompanied by an adult.
Hammersmith and Fulham Artsfest
Known as the “HF Artsfest”, this annual festival of art takes place in the lush green environs of Ravenscourt Park. Organisers tout it is as a celebration of music, theatre, literature, dance, exhibitions, comedy and circus.
Midnight Apothecary
An atmospheric, candlelit drinking den is open on Friday and Saturday nights at Brunel Museum. Cocktail lovers can get cosy around the campfire with drinks, Greek street food and riverside views this summer. An advance ticket costs a fiver which includes entry to the museum—with an optional guided descent into the underground chamber (maybe do that bit before cocktail hour!).
