The Glory’s Halloween Ball—Saturday 26 October

Legendary Dalston Queer performance pub The Glory takes its show on the road. Or rather, up the road, for a big Halloween Ball at Hackney Empire. All the seats in the stalls are being taken out for the night to make room for dancing. Hosts include Jonny Woo and John Sizzle, with guest appearances from Myra Dubois, The Sex Shells, Sèayoncé, Sooz Kempner and the ‘Res-Erection’ of the notorious Gay Bingo.

Halloween dance floor anthems come courtesy of DJ Chaka Khan, as well Mass Mummy Congas and Ghostly Big Spenders. And if you’re not feeling too monster-mashed, you can get on stage and join in the lip-sync battle for a chance to win a Golden Bar Tab at The Glory worth £500.00.

Take a trip to Dalston to turn your Halloween celebrations upside down for a Stranger Things themed party at Earth, Hackney. Cult 80s pop-culture fancy dress is the theme, no shirt is too garish for this club night.

There’ll be two rooms of glorious, Hawkins Indiana weirdness to explore. The Snow Ball Room is prom themed, filled with bloody balloons, classic 80s cuts, and a champagne reception. Room two is The Upside Down, with spooky mist, moody lights and Dr Brenner’s evil experiments lounge. Just watch out for Demogorgans. Expect lots of hip-hop, beats, breaks and maybe even a bit of The Never Ending Story soundtrack.
