In place of last year’s popular Magic Lantern Festival, Chiswick House Gardens is hosting a light extravaganza to brighten up the lengthening nights.
With the timing, you might be expecting lots of fairy lights draped over bushes. However, these lights are much more on the arty end of the illumination spectrum. Lighting designer Nick Gray and a team of London artists will light up historic Chiswick House and gardens with a series of light installations and sculptures.
Punters will be able to stroll around the gardens admiring the light shows while listening to a “curated” soundtrack. The trail takes about 45 minutes to complete.
Although you’ll be able to purchase tickets at the door, organisers recommend booking online in order to avoid disappointment. Given the often terrible weather (the event goes on rain or moonshine), we recommend checking the forecast in advance before booking.
