BP Big Screens at Trafalgar Square

Cancelled
6:30pm – 11:00pm
Free

An event that should be dubbed ‘The No Penny Opera’ lets you get a fix of high culture without spending anything in Trafalgar Square. Crowds can gather for screened performances of live opera and ballet from the Royal Opera and the Royal Ballet as dusk falls over central London.

There will be three iconic productions in June and July:

11th June at 7pm – Romeo and Juliete (The Royal Ballet)

2nd July at 7pm – Carmen (The Royal Opera)

July 9th at 7pm – The Marriage of Figaro (The Royal Opera)

As with all free events, early arrival is recommended. Pre-screening starts at 6.30pm and the performances start at 7pm, but seats will be filled long before that. You’re welcome to pack a picnic (but should bring plastic (ideally resuable!) rather than glass container) and do bring something comfy to sit on, as these will be long performances and concrete isn’t comfortable! Get cosy with a blanket, and a packing raincoat is probably a good idea too, just in case.

Organisers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
