St. Katharine Docks marks the Year of the Horse with a considered cultural celebration that draws on the estate’s historic links to global trade, fine tea and chinaware. Rather than traditional festival decoration, the waterfront estate will showcase a stunning design-led installation inspired by Jingdezhen blue-and-white porcelain, the beautiful craft that once travelled through London’s historic ports.
The event centres on the estate’s Coronarium building, where subtle references to the waterside setting and the arrival of spring combine with fresh florals in soft seasonal tones, signalling renewal and the year ahead. The approach reflects St. Katharine Docks’ position as a contemporary hub for art and culture whilst honouring centuries of East-West trade that shaped the capital.

At the heart of the programme is a special pop-up collaboration with Banquet 88, the newest Chinese restaurant opening soon at the Docks. Taking place across selected dates during the February half-term week, the pop-up offers visitors the chance to sample refined dim sum, revealing a first taste of the restaurant’s menu ahead of its official opening.
Families visiting during half-term will find free oriental fan painting workshops for children taking place daily on the Coronarium’s upper level. The workshops offer young visitors a hands-on introduction to traditional craft within the venue’s historic setting. Further activations will follow as part of the wider Lunar New Year programme.
The installations are housed in the Coronarium, one of St. Katharine Docks’ most distinctive spaces. The setting provides panoramic views across the marina, reinforcing the estate’s reputation for hosting unique experiences in central London.
