Suspended States is a solo exhibition of new and recent works by British Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare CBE.
The exhibition is on view at Serpentine South from 12 April to 1 September 2024 and coincides with the artist’s presentation at the 60th International Art Exhibition — La Biennale di Venezia from April 2024.
Suspended States is the artist’s first London solo exhibition in over 20 years. It looks at issues of imperialism and colonialisation, including how systems of power impact sites of refuge, debates on public statues and the ecological impact of colonialisation.
This thought-provoking exhibition is free – and you can get 2-for-1 value by also swinging by another of our free must-see artworks for spring at the Serpentine.
