The Dream of Being a Madame

8:30pm – 9:35pm
£15.00 (advance sales)

Written and produced by Qui Wang, The Dream of Being a Madame was first selected for the inaugural Women Writers Festival hosted by the Etcetera Theatre in Camden in January 2024, where it was performed to a sold-out audience and received a four-star review. In August 2024 it was featured at the Edinburgh Fringe, where it earned two more four-star reviews, garnered international coverage, and was recommended by the London Theatre Magazine.

The narrative explores the lives of two love-deprived women: one ashamed to admit her need for love, using her disdain for men as a shield against the wounds of her parents’ failed marriage; the other, forever laughing, desperately begging men for love to avoid the scars from her dysfunctional family.

Venue: Omnibus Theatre, 1 Clapham Common Northside, London SW4 0QW
