Tropical Modernism, or the ‘Bauhaus in the Tropics’, was a colonial architectural style that developed into a symbol of independence and modernity in India and West Africa.
This fascinating exhibition at the V&A looks at key figures Jane Drew, Maxwell Fry and Le Corbusier, the postwar backdrop of political unrest and the importance of traditional motifs as well as the legacy of the movement.
