London is well and truly open for New Year Celebrations once more; there are plenty of lively events ready to welcome you on 31st December. Ballie Ballerson Shoreditch If your vibe is ‘balls to 2022’ then take yourself down to Shoreditch for what is basically an adult soft play centre with cocktails. Ballie Ballerson claims to have a million glowing balls in its two giant pits so you can see in 2023 with some brightly coloured, NYE silliness. The bar is open until 3am, with DJs playing a mix of pop, hip-hop and R&B and there is a buy one get one free happy hour on all house drinks (cocktails, spirit & mixers, single beers, glasses of wine and glasses of Prosecco) between 9:30pm-10:30 pm. The Candlelight Club’s Jazz Age New Year’s Eve Party The modern twenties have been pretty grim so far, so why not step back a century and party like it's 1923? 1920s, speakeasy-style party The Candlelight Club is one of Londons’ most decadent NYE nights out, where flapper girls and dapper chaps are invited to a secret (natch) venue for a night of live jazz, cabaret and classic cocktails. If you’re interested, be quick about booking – early bird tickets have already been snapped up, but there’s still time to dust off your glad rags and save yourself a spot. The Brixton Ball With an excellent tagline on its website inviting punters to ‘take a wrong turn to the right place’, Lost in Brixton is a colourful, hidden gem with a rooftop terrace. Although the decor may take its cue from tropical lands, the December weather will be a lot more Baltic. Happily, it’s a covered terrace, so head on up for cocktails, funk, soul, house, R & B, hip-hop and - surely what every top NYE party needs - a guest trombonist. Where: Lost in Brixton, Brixton Village, Coldharbour Lane, London, SW0 8PS Times: 6pm - 1am Tickets: From (early bird) - (standard entry) How Does It Feel To Be Loved? How Does It Feel To Be Loved is one of London’s best loved indie clubs, with an indie pop and soul music policy. Want to ring in 2023 by bopping to Belle & Sebastian, The Supremes, The Beach Boys, Camera Obscura, Le Tigre and Otis Redding among others? You’ll be in good, friendly company on the dancefloor. Regularly voted one of London's top NYE parties, there’s no posturing or elitism at HDIF - just top tunes and good times. Get your tickets quickly as this year it is at a new, smaller venue so tickets will sell out faster. Where: Signature Brew Haggerston, Railway Arches, 340 Acton Mews, London E8 4EA Times: 8pm - 3am Tickets: NYE Party @ Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes 80s/90s/00s Nestled beneath The Tavistock Hotel, Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes is a bit of a central London hidden gem. It’s a retro bowling lanes, bar, events venue and karaoke joint all rolled into one. Keeping the vintage vibe going into a new year, NYE is all about the 80s, 90s and 00s. Expect big tunes, big hair (optional, but we dare say encouraged) and mass sing-a-longs. And of course, there are pins to knock down on the lanes, and Karaoke Booths primed for slurry renditions of anthems from many decades. There’s also be a well-stocked bar, and you can grab snacks in the diner to fuel up for the midnight hour and beyond. Where: Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, Bedford Way, Basement of Tavistock Hotel, London, WC1H 9EU Times: 9pm - 3am Tickets: NYE at The Blues Kitchen A well-known favourite among London New Year's Eve parties, soul, funk and rock & roll are on the menu this year at Camden’s The Blues Kitchen. There will be two sets from the BK House Band, doing covers from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac and James Brown. They’ll be followed by DJs spinning old tunes to ring in the New Year until 3am. You can book a table (for four) if you want to eat as well as drink and dance your way into 2023. Food isn’t included in the price but if you book a table from 9pm, you'll be able to keep it all night. Where: The Blues Kitchen, 111-113 Camden High St, London NW1 7JN Times: 8 pm - 3am Tickets: from Defected NYE at Printworks Music label Defected will be taking over Printworks for a night of house and disco. The line up includes special guest Nic Fanciulli along with M-High, Prunk, Paige Tomlinson, Monki. the Dunmore Brothers and more. This will sadly be the last New Year's Eve show for a while; the first ticket run has sold out but resale is open now.
