Be transported to alpine slopes and ski chalets as King’s Cross is transformed into an illuminated, traffic-free wonderland from Wednesday 9 November 2022 until Sunday 26 February 2023.
Coal Drops Yard will sport a 35-foot, alpine ski-themed Christmas tree mimicking mountain scapes, adorned with ski accessories and illuminated with neon lights. Once the eye-catching tree has brought Christmas vibes to visitors over the winter, the needles will be used to create an alpine essence for candles, which will later be sold in Coal Drops Yard.
2022 will also see the return of the striking geometric winter sculpture Temenos, created by artist Liliane Lijn. The immersive installation stands 11 metres high and comprises 19 neon yellow and orange poles. This year it will light up its new home on Cubitt Square.
The much-loved annual Granary Square winter installation will also return this November; details have yet to be announced but check back for updates.
