Greenwich

Scenic and historic, Greenwich is a great place for sightseeing, strolling and shopping.

Famous for being the home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), these days Mean Time also means locally produced beers which flows from the area’s many pubs. Its nautical history can be explored at the famous ship the Cutty Sark, and National Maritime Museum. Maritime Greenwich is also Unesco World Heritage Site. Visit the Royal Observatory to see London’s only Planetarium. Greenwich also has a huge, beautiful park, and a covered market for perusing.

Walk along the River towards the more modern part to take in Public Art like Richard Wilson’s A Slice of Life, and the rather sci-fi looking Thames Barrier, which provides the city with flood relief.
