Fancy learning to ride a unicycle?
The University of East London’s After Dark Festival returns in spectacular style, transforming the Docklands campus into a dazzling winter celebration of light, fire, and circus arts.
This year’s Fire & Circus theme promises an electrifying evening packed with breathtaking performances, immersive installations, and hands-on activities — all free to attend.
Experience fire displays, bold costumes, mesmerizing illuminated installations and high-flying acrobatic performances – you can even try your hand at juggling or unicycling in drop-in workshops. An illuminated parade will lead a glowing procession through campus, lighting the way to the festival’s Big Top stage, where live music and performances will include Air Giants with Luma, Worldbeaters Spark!, Lightfires’ music and fire installations, Circo Rum Baba, Show Globes, and Murmuration Arts’ Lullaby.
For an insider’s perspective on the art of light and outdoor festivals, LUSE Symposium will host expert talks and discussions. Entry is free, but registration is encouraged.
Time: 5:00–8:00pm (Illuminated parade at 5:30pm; main performance at 6:15pm)
Venue: Docklands Campus, University of East London: University Way, London E16 2RD
