As the nation marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, visitors can experience the Palace of Westminster in a new light this summer, with a special series of late openings – uncovering powerful stories of those who protected and supported parliamentary democracy from 1939-1945.

On Friday 13 June and Friday 11 July from 5.30pm, guests can step into the historic Houses of Parliament for an unforgettable evening that celebrates the war effort in Parliament.

Held in the UNESCO World Heritage surroundings of the Palace of Westminster, this twilight event offers a unique opportunity to discover how Parliament and its people responded to the challenges of wartime Britain and go behind-the-scenes of British politics in the heart of Westminster.
