London Anime and Gaming Con 2024

Run by the folks over at Animeleague, London Anime and Gaming Con returns once again for a full weekend of madcap fun. Despite the name, the event covers a wide variety of anime-adjacent interests, including manga, western animation and gaming of all kinds.

What to see at the London Anime and Gaming Con

What this con lacks in giant, flashy exhibition spaces, it more than makes up for in content. There’s an absolute ton to see and do, with four floors of stalls covering just about every facet of geek culture. Guests and panelists include a host of well-known voice actors, YouTubers, performers and of course cosplayers. There are also parties running until midnight each night, including a glowstick rave on the Saturday – so if you’ve ever wanted to see JoJo in a dance-off with Sailor Mercury, this might be your chance.

Cosplaying

Cosplaying is totally optional (but very much welcome). Whatever you decide to dress up as, you’d do well to follow the usual common-sense cosplay rules. That means no potentially dangerous weapons and clothes no smaller than a bathing suit.

If you’re really feeling it, you can also join the Cosplay Masquerade. The competition is fierce, but you could come away with a prize. Just be sure to sign up ahead of time!

Where to buy tickets

You’re best off buying tickets online. Tickets start at £12.00 for a day, with discounts for multiple-day passes and those who register early. Don’t hang about though, as weekend tickets have been known to sell out in the past.

Getting to the London Anime and Gaming Con 2023

The event takes place at London Novotel West. The closest station is Hammersmith; from there it’s a 2-minute walk to the venue. The entrance to London Anime & Gaming Con is on Hammersmith Road, which is NOT the hotel main entrance. You need to use the outdoor staircase on Hammersmith Road, which is across the street from Wolverton Gardens.
