Hold the bratwurst, Camden is hosting Vegtoberfest, the UK’s first vegan Oktoberfest celebration. Back after a sell-out first year in 2018, the event promises two Saturdays of food, beer and live music.
Ok, so there’ll be vegan versions Bavarian Wiesswurst, Bratwurst and Bockwurst sausages courtesy of Rudy’s Diner. You can also expect kartoffelpuffer (German potato pancakes), vegan pizzas, pretzels and dairy-free ice cream.
Any Oktoberfest is bound to be a boozy affair, and this is no exception. There will be a decent selection of vegan-friendly Bavarian beers, including Spaten, Lowenbrau and more. Also look out for local vegan craft ales, vegan wines, mulled wine, hot and cold cocktails and even vegan Baileys.
Tickets start from £10.00, and don’t include food or drinks. but there will be raucous entertainment from sublimely-named brass bands Old Dirty Brasstards (12 October) and Brasstermind (19 October). London Cabaret star Dee Riley is also performing, and you can enjoy a drink with a view over Camden Stables Market at the Wonderfest Rooftop. Prost!
