Not feeling the family-friendly panto banter this year? How about this?
Glamourously extravagant and unapologetically sexy, get ready for a hugely enjoyable evening from the mischievous queen of Weimar punk kabarett, Bernie Dieter.
Sequins, spikes and sky-high stilettos are costume basics for her family of hugely talented acrobats. From fire-eating contortionists to aerial duo sisters and an award-winning male pole dancer, the acts are astonishing.
Underbelly Boulevard in Soho is one of London’s newest venues, and the setting couldn’t be more apt. Take your pre-show or interval drink and sit on one of the tables on the glass bridge if you dare, where you can gaze along one of Soho’s less gentrified alleyways and watch the comings and goings of the sex shop next door.
The theatre itself is equally perfect; an intimate space with a small balcony, you feel right in the middle of the action (and if Bernie likes the look of you, you may well end up there!).
Ticket prices vary widely according to the seat placement, but if you’re happy to stand you can grab one for just £18.00. There’s an additional late show on Saturdays at 9.15pm, check the website for details.
(By the way, if you like the sound of this you might want to check out La Clique.)
Please be aware this show contains real flame, partial nudity, haze, flashing lights, loud noises and adult themes.
