The Science Museum’s Illuminating India is a season of exhibitions and events celebrating India’s contribution to the fields of science, technology and mathematics. The season commemorates 70 years of Independence and is part of the British Council’s UK/India Year of Culture. The main free events are the exhibitions, 5000 Years of Science and Innovations, and Photography 1857-2017 and India: Empire and Science a discussion about Indian science and its relationship with colonialism. Booking is required for all the listed events. Other events include An evening with composer, producer and tabla player Talvin Singh, and a film screening + discussion of The Man Who Knew Infinity the story of self-taught maths genius Srinivasa Ramanujan.
