Bombed during World War II, the gorgeous St George’s Garrison Church is part ruin, with stunning mosaics and a canopy roof as protection against the weather.

Blackheath Halls Orchestra presents an outdoor evening of summer music in the beautiful grounds of the church in Woolwich. Doors open at 4.30pm so you can settle down with a picnic for a programme that includes:

Percy Grainger Handel in the Strand
Charles Williams Summer Garden
Ron Goodwin Magnificent Men
along with other music by Bernstein, Frank Bridge and Shostakovich
