This weekend, get the kids down to Somerford Grove in Tottenham to celebrate art, learning and literature at the Quangle Wangle Carnival.
The brainchild of a group of local artists, the day will offer unique and quirky games and performances for children and adults alike, such as Rumble in the Jungle, a game from the people at Poetry In Wood. The more energetic can try their hand at Knock the Teeth Out the Crazy Clown (which we assume is self-explanatory). There’ll be free food for everyone, a procession and live music from Malphino, a tropical band hailing from Cumbria.
So whip up some suitably festive attire at the mask-making workshop, grab a drum and marvel at the unveiling of the giant Quangle Wangle sculptures (just watch out for the biskey bats!).
The Carnival will be the playground’s grand finale in a series of 10 weekly art workshops helping to bring a little more love to the struggling playground, which is the only one for the entire borough of Haringey.
And if you’ve not entirely sure what a Quangle Wangle is yet—wonder no more!
