The Great British Tattoo Show takes place over two days at Alexandra Palace with tattoo related activities and entertainment of all kinds. It’s a real showcase of some of the UK’s best talent—as well as an opportunity to (politely) scout out other folks’ tattoos. For regretful tattoo lovers, there are also tattoo removal specialists in attendance.
You can meet hundreds of Britain’s top tattoo artists, see tattoo competitions, watch fashion shows, nod your head to bands and stuff your face with food and craft beer. The crowd is pretty varied, with adults of all ages and backgrounds in attendence. There’s a definite alternative vibe—which is unsurprising given the UK’s history with tattoos.
You’ll also see that reflected in the entertainment. Past years have included burlesque, circus arts, fashion shows and live music in abundance.
Note: The info below was correct for the planned rescheduling for November, 2020 but hasn’t been confirmed for the May event.
The event is insured against COVID-19—so if it’s cancelled you’ll get a full refund or tickets for the next Tattoo Show. What’s more, NHS workers get free tickets this year—so it’s well worth a visit if you can get your shift off!
