An annual (except for 2020 & 2021 —thanks COVID), festive, pudding-based fun run is back for another year of fancy dress and dessert-balancing to raise funds for Cancer Reesearch UK.
Every year teams gather in outlandish costumes: elves, Santas, reindeer, and less festive offerings like Jedi, bears and unicorns have all pitched up hoping to make it the finish line with their puds still placed firmly on their trays.
For obvious ‘elf and safety reasons, the Christmas tradition of setting the pudding alight will not be observed as part of the race, but you can jazz up your pud with adornments for the occasion.
Teams of 6 can enter to take part in a relay obstacle race around the Covent Garden Piazza, so if you’re going in fancy dress, make sure it’s something you can tackle obstacles in. Obstacles include a foam slalom, inflatables and jigsaw challenges and there is a small entry fee (£75.00).
If the idea of chucking yourself around Covent Garden balancing a pudding doesn’t appeal, just go along and cheer on the teams, and chuck in a festive quid or two.
