South West London loves an illuminated woodland trail. Nearby Kew Gardens gets lit up at Christmas, but if you can’t wait for the festive season, the Syon Park’s Enchanted Woodland turns on the lights, and the magic for another year in November.
Follow the colourful light trail around the 600-year-old gardens around the ornamental lake, through the arboretum and end up at the Great Conservatory.
The Enchanted Woodland is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for wandering and admiring interactive lights, and instagrammable installations along the way. Book timed sessions in advance, tickets go pretty fast, so get on it quickly.
