The days are ever longer, the flowers are starting to pop up everywhere and with cut-price Easter eggs and plenty of events to choose from, April in London is sweet! London Games Festival A huge umbrella event covering a whole list of shows and try-outs, this is a game lover's heaven with all the latest innovations and developments. Regular highlights of the festival include Official Selection — curated picks of the best new games — and the BAFTA Game awards. Silent Disco at the Natural History Museum A late-night silent disco may not be the first activity that springs to mind when someone mentions the Natural History Museum, but it’s one of London’s more unusual hot tickets – and you have to be quick, as they sell out fast. London Coffee Festival In Old Truman Brewery, your coffee-loving dreams will come true—for four wonderful days, at least. There will be over 250 artisan coffee and food vendors there, serving up coffee cocktails and running workshops and demos, with Ray Mang on the decks. Tickets are cheaper online so plan ahead if you can! SE1 Comedy’s Edinburgh Fringe Preview Season SE1 Comedy’s Edinburgh Fringe Preview Season brings together some of the best acts heading to this year’s Edinburgh Fringe – for free, and without the trek north. Brixton Windmill Open Days Kicking off a summer of open days, April is a great month to start exploring some green spaces in London and to do something a bit different. Offering a chance to explore the windmill interior, these events are popular so reserve a space in advance! Feast of St George Celebrating the patron saint of England, this annual festival includes plenty of traditional highlights like Morris dancing, family games, Pearly Kings & Queens and the chance for some cheeky dragon selfies. There will be food stalls offering their very British wares, including fish & chips and chicken tikka masala, plus cookery demonstrations so you can learn a few skills to take home too. BrewLDN 2024 Back with a new-look show and new cool indoor/outdoor venue Between the Bridges (right next to the London Eye), BrewLDN promises a good time to beer lovers. Sample beers from over 150 of the world’s most acclaimed brewers, along with great music and epic street food. The Summer Season at Shakespeare's Globe A chance to see the performances, join the talks and experience a whole host of other events this summer at the Globe. There will be hundreds of - tickets available across performances and plenty of family-friendly storytelling events across the school holidays too. Echoes of the Earth: Living Archive This exhibition at the Serpentine North gallery is of recent works by renowned artist Refik Anadol, a pioneer in artificial intelligence arts. The multisensory artworks include Artificial Realities: Coral (2023), which immerses the viewer in an AI’s version of abstracted underwater landscapes, and Living Archive: Large Nature Model – an installation which transforms the gallery into an AI rainforest. Vaisakhi Festival Learn about and celebrate Sikh culture at this free event in Trafalgar Square. There will be indoor and outdoor event areas so you'll be able to enjoy it whatever the weather. Highlights include spiritual music, traditional food, turban tying, folk dance, martial arts and special children's activities. Hyde Park Vintage Furniture and Flea Market This affordable vintage homewares event has been curated to provide you with an alternative to mass-produced, identikit homewares to decorate and update your home. Menotti’s ‘The Medium’ & Puccini’s ‘Il Tabarro’ Harrow Opera presents a double bill of the dramatic operas ‘The Medium’ by Menotti and ‘Il Tabarro’ (The Cloak) by Puccini. Two powerful twentieth century tales, not for the faint-hearted. Acton Depot Open Weekend A rare chance to step into London Transport Museum's Acton depot, this open weekend is one of only three per year so it would be a shame to miss out. Tickets are required and must be bought in advance, but kids go for half price. West Norwood Feast Enjoy artisan crafts, vintage and street food stalls, along with a farmer's market showcasing local produce and finest preserves. There's also lots of free entertainment and family activities. ‘Bamboo as Method’ at Somerset House In stark contrast to the fast-paced, hyper-connected lives of most Londoners, visitors are encouraged to immerse themselves in a garden created from over 300 locally-sourced bamboos and spend some time in the contemplative, creative act of drawing. London Marathon While you may not be running in the marathon that doesn't mean you can't cheer people on and marvel at the costumes and challenges people have added to the 26-mile challenge. There are always huge crowds lining the route and a great atmosphere, with the main spots for gatherings being Tower Bridge, Embankment and the finish line. The Brockwell Park Miniature Railway Admit you’re still just a big kid and hop on this 7¼ inch gauge miniature railway in Brockwell Park for a return journey from Herne Hill Gates to the Brockwell Lido for the princely sum of .
