Brixton, and the surrounding area, is home to an incredible selection of restaurants, encompassing wonderful cuisines from all over the world. We may not be able to visit these restaurants at the moment. But, thanks to the proliferation of food delivery services, we can still indulge in their delightful flavours. Here’s our guide to the best takeaway food near Brixton.

KataKata – Tasty vegetarian takeaway food near Brixton

Buckwheat galette

KataKata specialises in gluten free, buckwheat pancakes called galettes. Deliciously savoury, they’re filled with fresh vegetarian and vegan ingredients. We recommend the incredibly good value £4.00 simple goat galette. It’s stuffed with mushrooms, herbs and creamy goat cheese and served with a grated beetroot, carrot and spinach salad. The rest of the menu is priced at £6.90. Also worth trying are the vegan affair with aubergine, spinach and mushrooms and the Caribbean twist with jerk tofu, sweet potato, mushrooms and aubergine. The £2.60 fresh ginger and lime tea is a ferociously fiery number that complements the lovingly made French/Cameroonian food. In the mood for pancakes now? Using traditional Thai recipes to make seasonal British ingredients like wild mushrooms and Jersey Royal potatoes sing, Rosa’s hits the mark with dishes such as £11.25 butternut red curry, £10.75 chicken and cashew stir fry and £12.25 massaman curry.

Posh fried chicken that really is finger lickin’ good. The £7.50 buffalo burger is a masterpiece of fast food satisfaction. The buttermilk and honey batter is unctuous and crisp, the chicken is moist and juicy and the spicy buffalo sauce mixes with cooling ranch sauce and sour pickles to complete the package. Best enjoyed with £3.50 crunchy, French fries coated in Cajun salt.

500 Degrees – Traditional pizza delivery near Brixton

Sourdough pizza

As the name suggests, this Italian restaurant prepares its divine sourdough pizzas in a traditional wood fired oven reaching temperatures in excess of 500 degrees Celsius. This creates a crispy dough with a soup-like tomato, basil and milky fior di latte cheese base. Recommended toppings include the £12.95 Italian spicy pizza with nduja, ham and red onions or the £12.85 Napoletana pizza with anchovies, Kalamata black olives, capers and oregano. For our money, the best pizza in Brixon.
