Marylebone is a rather affluent part of town, owned and managed by Howard De Walden Estate. It is more London posho than cheapo, but there are a few decent charity shops on the high street nestled among the boutiques. The High Street is also home to Daunt Books, a very beautiful Edwardian bookshop, specializing in travel books.
On weekends, the Cabbages & Frocks market pitches up in the grounds of St Marylebone parish church, designed for foodies and fashionistas alike. The area is also home to the Wallace Collection a gallery in a historic townhouse and Wigmore Hall, a classical concert venue, where you can get coffee and classical performances on Sunday mornings for £11. The small, but well kept Paddington Street Gardens is an 18th Century park and garden, is a charming little green nook, hidden at the edge of the high street.
