Enter a world of secret gardens, as normally restricted and\u00a0private spaces are open to the public for two days during London Square Open Gardens Weekend. New spaces join old favourites for London Open Gardens this year, with over 100 participating gardens across various boroughs in support of the work of London Parks and Gardens (LPG). Open spaces include formal garden squares but also rooftop terraces, wild patches and community allotments. The garden at Number 10 Downing Street will be open for the first time since 2019. There will be two tours on Saturday 10 June 2023 at 11.30am and 1.30pm, with tickets available via a public ballot which closes on 5th April. There are 24 places available on each tour, open to visitors aged 12 and over. There are seven newcomers for 2023, including the rewilded OmVed Gardens with its wild flower meadow and vegetable patches; 245 Hammersmith Road, offering special access to spectacular views across the city from its terrace, and the stylish roof garden at 25 Cannon Street, next to St Paul\u2019s Cathedral. Perennial highlights include: the historic Lincoln's Inn Gardens; Montague Street Gardens, a classic formal garden square in Bloomsbury; and Nomura International PLC, a contemporary terrace garden with unobstructed views over the River Thames. Many gardens will be hosting events -- everything from live music to botanical drawing workshops, plus tours, talks and stuff for kids, like face-painting -- and offering refreshments -- and plants! -- for purchase.
