In the midst of the Covent Garden crowds, St Paul’s Church (also known as ‘The Actor’s Church’) has a small, bench-lined garden—perfect for a lunchtime retreat. Bloomsbury is the former home of Charles Dickens, and the author’s home is now a museum, and Marchmont Street is the place for secondhand books. It’s a great place for wandering and looking at London architecture. The British Museum, Senate House Library and Somerset House are all within easy walking distance.
